Jonas Brothers Tackling 'Real Subjects' On Next Album

The Jonas Brothers aren't holding anything back on their next album, opening up about the good, the bad and everything in between.

And while fans will have to wait a little bit longer to hear the new music, it seems like it will be worth the wait, since the guys are getting really personal this time around.

"We're talking about some really real subjects and things that are meaningful to us both in the present time, in the past, and it's just now out there for people to hear," Nick told MTV News about their in-the-works comeback record. "That's the great thing about being an artist, is you can create and then share later."

The guys gave fans a little taste of their new sound when they performed at Radio City Music Hall on Thursday night, including the song "Wedding Bells" that just might be about Nick's high-profile ex-girlfriend Miley Cyrus. But it seems those musical appetizers are only a small part of the feast they are cooking up, and with the guys completely running the show this time around, they have the freedom to do whatever it is they want to artistically, leaving their musical landscape wide open.

"We've taken on a completely different approach to songwriting. We're doing it all ourselves. I'm producing it, we're writing it and we're performing it," Nick said. "It really is all about what's happening with the three of us in the studio. We're in a season now, as artists, of really taking control of our destiny and deciding what our next moves are. It something we're really, really proud of. But it's also one of those things we tread carefully, but we have great fans to support us."

The next release marks the JoBros' first studio album since 2009's Lines, Vines, and Trying Times. And while they've spent some time apart, working on a number of solo projects, now felt like just the right time to put out new music as a group.

"It feels really good," Kevin said. "It's been a long time coming. We've all been doing some individual stuff and on our own journeys, but now we're coming back together, and the [Radio City] show [was] kind of the kickoff to that."

Jonas Brothers Celebrate On-stage Reunion at Darby Restaurant

Joined by Kevin's wife and in-laws, the Jonas Brothers posed for cameras upon arriving at the Darby restaurant in New York City on Thursday.

Youngest brother Nick Jonas chose a charcoal colored suit with a white dress shirt and black shoes, while middle brother Joe Jonas opted for a flashier shiny gray suit with a red patterned shirt underneath.

Married man Kevin Jonas wore a double-breasted gray suit, white dress shirt, and brown shoes as he posed with his wife, Danielle Deleasa, and her family.

Thursday night also marked the first night on stage together in a long time, as they played a reunion show at New York's Radio City.

Excited about playing with his brothers again, Kevin told MTV News, "It feels really good. It's been a long time coming. We've all been doing some individual stuff and on our own journeys, but now we're coming back together and the show's kind of the kick off to that."

During the show, the JoBros debuted some new songs. Nick spoke about them, saying, "We are performing about three new songs. I think, for us, it's crazy to be back onstage in general, but to think the fact that we are going to be premiering these news songs onstage for the first time is really exciting and kind of nerve-racking all at the same time. So, hopefully it all goes well."

New Songs : Wedding Bells

The Jonas Brothers unveiled a new song at their Radio City Music Hall
comeback concert this week, and its lyrics have fans convinced that Nick
Jonas wrote it about his ex-girlfriend Miley Cyrus' engagement. Who
would've pegged Nick for a stunt queen? Also in music news, Taylor Swift
is not a good driver, Ke$ha says she's not a trainwreck, she just
drinks a lot, Snoop Dogg sold his soul in the name of Hot Pockets,
Justin Bieber punked us, and more.

Nick's Wedding Invitation Is Gonna Get Lost in the Mail
So,
even if the Jonas Brothers' new song "Wedding Bells" isn't about Miley
Cyrus, they sure want you to think it is. The forlorn ballad features
lyrics about feeling heartbroken over an ex-lover's recent engagement.
Uh huh.

Before
he broke into song, Nick explained to the audience that he knew he'd
probably be apologizing for it down the line. "You have to write a song
and apologize for it later," Nick told the crowd. "I don't know that
I've ever written a song that makes me as uncomfortable as this song
does. And although it's not the way I feel at this moment in time,
hopefully this gives you a glimpse into what the experience was like for
me."

If there was any question about the song's inspiration,
check this lyric: "If you recall, our anniversary falls / Eleven nights
into June…"

No big deal, except Miley wrote the following of her "first love" in her memoir, Miles To Go, "I remember the exact date, June 11 2006. It was the day I met my first love. Let's call him Prince Charming."

So. Either Nick Jonas still harbors some very major feelings for the
future Mrs. Hemsworth, or he's hoping to drum up some publicity for
himself and his brothers. Maybe Miley will address the affair during her
appearance on
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight. But probably not.
